A$AP Relli has admitted to deleting several text messages from his phone before reporting A$AP Rocky in an assault case that could result in a 24-year prison sentence for the rapper.
This revelation arose during Rocky’s trial, where defense attorney Joe Tacopina highlighted discrepancies between their phones. Relli’s phone showed three texts from Rocky, while Rocky’s contained four deleted messages from Relli, which included confrontational statements.
Initially dismissing the deleted texts as fake, Relli later acknowledged deleting them but didn’t explain why, yet insisted Rocky “threatened me.”
The text message reads “You got all this fake animosity towards me lol beat me up,” “n**** I wish u would,” “Give me a reason n****,” and “U been a p***y.”
Video evidence allegedly showed Rocky confronting Relli with what prosecutors claim was a handgun, although Tacopina argued it was a prop intended to scare off attackers.
The trial has been tense, with Relli frequently responding, “I don’t recall.”
Rihanna, Rocky’s partner, has shown her support by attending the proceedings. The jury must now weigh Relli’s testimony against the conflicting evidence.
