Neymar in Talks with Three MLS Over Possible Move
Brazilian superstar Neymar, currently playing for Al Hilal, is reportedly in early talks to join a new club in the U.S. He’s in discussions with three MLS teams, with the Chicago Fire showing the most interest. The Fire, which recently hired Gregg Berhalter as manager, finished near the bottom of the league standings.
Inter Miami is not pursuing Neymar, as their new coach, Javier Mascherano, said signing him is “impossible” due to salary cap restrictions. Nevertheless, Neymar hopes to reunite with Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez at Inter Miami.
Since joining Al Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain for $97.6 million in the summer of 2023, Neymar has faced challenges, including a torn ACL suffered while on international duty and a hamstring injury that has limited him to just seven appearances this season, scoring one goal. His contract with Al Hilal runs until June 2025, enabling him to negotiate with other teams.
