A security worker was detained in Ogun for allegedly stealing the company’s belongings.
Olaitan Matthew, a 59-year-old security guard, was taken into custody by Ogun State police officers from the Onipanu Division on suspicion of stealing electric motor parts from the business he works for.
On Wednesday, January 15, at around 4:30 am, Matthew, a security guard at the business in Tomori, Animashaun Estate, in the Ota region of the state, was taken into custody.
The suspect was caught by the anti-crime squad of the division when he failed to provide a satisfactory explanation of how he obtained the motor parts.Following a series of interrogations, the suspect admitted to taking the parts from the company while production was momentarily suspended, according to Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola, who confirmed his arrest.
According to Odutola, the Onipanu Division’s Anti-Crime Team arrested Olaitan Matthew, a 59-year-old security guard, at Land Star Company, which is situated in Tomori Estate, Animashaun Estate, Ota, on January 15, 2025, at approximately 4:30 am.
He was discovered in possession of parts for an electric motor, and he was unable to provide adequate explanations for how he obtained the things.
He acknowledged that they had been taken from the very business he was hired to guard when he was questioned further.
According to Odutola, the inquiry into the recovery of further items he stole from the company is still ongoing.
