Hazlewood to Miss Remainder of India Series Due to Injury
It seems quite possible that Australia’s seamer Josh Hazlewood would be unable to participate in the remaining matches of the Test series against India due to a calf injury.
During the warm-up that took place before day four of the third test match in Brisbane, the 33-year-old had a tightness in his calf. As a result, he departed the field after bowling one over during the morning session.
With the injury, he was sent for scans, and Australia has stated that it is likely that he will miss the fourth and fifth tests, which will take place in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.
Due to a side ailment, the right-armer was unable to participate in the second-Test victory in Adelaide.
In his place, Scott Boland was brought in, and Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett, both of whom had not yet been capped, were brought into the squad.
“He felt it this morning in warm-ups and gave it a good crack,” said Daniel Vettori, who is the individual in charge of bowling.
When he came back after putting in so much effort after suffering another injury, it was just unfortunate for him to come back. His situation was difficult.
“He’s one of the best bowlers in the world and it obviously affects the whole team.”
