Eight victims were saved when the Katsina State Police Command foiled three separate attempts at kidnapping by alleged armed bandits in the local government areas of Danmusa and Faskari. On Monday, October 7, 2024, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the command spokeswoman, revealed this in a statement. According to the statement, "armed bandits attempted to kidnap two women after intercepting them at around 11 am on the outskirts of Matarau village in Danmusa LGA." Likewise, the Faskari Divisional Police Headquarters got distress calls that same day. "An additional set of bandits abducted two ladies and their children at approximately 2:30 pm when they blocked the Unguwar Kafa intersection on the Yankara-Faskari route. The PPRO stated that "police officers quickly responded to the reports, mobilised to the scene, and engaged the attackers in gunfire, forcing the bandits to flee and leaving behind the kidnapped victims, who were all rescued unharmed. The attackers fled with gunshot wounds." The Commissioner of Police praised the officers for their courage and reaffirmed the command's dedication to combating crime and guaranteeing the security of the state's citizens.

Hezbollah Launches Rockets Towards Haifa, Israel.
Hezbollah, a militant organisation based in Lebanon, claimed to have launched rockets into Haifa in northern Israel on Tuesday, October 8, following the city's first rocket strike in eighteen years on Monday, October 7. The Iranian-backed Hezbollah claimed to have fired a "large rocket salvo" on Haifa and its northern suburbs. On Tuesday, the Israeli military announced that more than 100 missiles had crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory, with some intercepted. Hezbollah's attack comes as Israel continues its ground invasion of Lebanon. Earlier, Israel announced that its soldiers had commenced ground operations in southwestern Lebanon. Until now, the invasion had concentrated on the eastern side of the boundary. Israel claims that the ground attack, which started on September 30, is aimed against Hezbollah locations. In a show of support for Hamas, Hezbollah started firing at Israel a year ago, killing about 2,000 Lebanese.

Speed Darlington has not been seen or heard from for three days, and his last action on social media was three days ago, according to her urgent warning. Constance viewed the situation as concerning, stating that attempts to contact him have been ineffective, and he has not communicated with her during this time. She emphasised that there is no definite explanation for his absence but suggested that it could be related to a video he may have posted prior to going missing. She asked anyone with information about Speed Darlington's whereabouts to come forward and help with the hunt in her message.
